The Cole Harbour Wolf Pack look to do something tonight that no team has this playoff year: beat the Dartmouth Steele Subaru Major Midget Hockey Club.
Game three of the best of five Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League Finals is set for 7:30 tonight at Cole Harbour Place.
With their backs to the wall, Cole Harbour will definitely be bringing all they’ve got. It’ll likely come down to whether or not they can do one of two things: get 3 goals or more past Aidan Hosein, Dartmouth’s ridiculously frugal goaltender, or hold the Steele Subaru scoring depth to one goal or less. Neither of those things seems likely to happen for the three games in a row needed to mount a series comeback.
Cole Harbour hasn’t scored more than two goals in either game so far, and the rookie trio of Evan MacKinnon, Andrew Coxhead, and Luke Henman have been up to their usual tricks. Let’s not forget the efforts of league playoff scoring leader Brock McLeod, along with Dylan Burton and Matthew Warner.
That being said, Cole Harbour finished first overall in the regular season standings for a reason, and they’ve got some firepower of their own. Game two turned into an overtime thriller largely on the strength of Hosein buying his team time early on the pull itself together under heavy Wolf Pack pressure.
This finals is truly the two best teams left standing and battling it out. Cole Harbour Place is the place to be tonight.
