The CEC Cougars have their home opener this coming Tuesday October 18th at Colchester Legion Stadium when they host the Northumberland Nighthawks.

CEC is 1-0 to start the year after defeating the Amherst Vikings 4-1 on Friday. I had the chance to speak with one of the goal scorers of that contest, Chad Tucker.

Tucker is playing his first season with the Cougars in his grade 12 year after finishing up his major midget career in Pictou.

“I’m looking forward to playing some good competitive hockey this year with a lot of good friends, and a chance to win a provincial title,” Tucker said.

“We have a good strong lineup with a mix of veteran players, talented rookies, and solid goaltending.”

About Tuesday’s game he added “we haven’t seen or played the Nighthawks yet but I’m sure it’s going to be a quick and physical game. We need to use our speed and skill against them to be successful.”

Tuesday’s game time at the stadium is 7:00pm.
